Announcing Light the Night with Love

The American Heart Association and the Carbondale Creative District are joining forces to bring a new event to Carbondale, featuring an interactive HeART Walk from DeRail Park to the Latinx Folk Art Garden. Farolito lanterns created by the Roaring Fork Community will adorn the Rio Grande HeARTway with light installations and surprise performances along the way.

Farolito kits include a farolito, or paper luminary, for decorating (and/or dedicating) with an electric votive, inspiring notes and prompts and special LOVE lenses, to enhance the light experience. Kits will be available for pick up mid-January at The Launchpad in Carbondale as well as The Property Shop in Glenwood Springs. Decorated farolitos will then need to be returned to either location no later than Friday, February 12.

KDNK has set up a Love Line to leave pre-recorded love notes that will be played live on-air during the event, over Valentine’s Day weekend. Record your very own message of what or who fills your heart with love at (970)510-3250.

Groups or pods of no more than 10 are asked to make a reservation ahead of time to allow for proper distancing, masks will be required. This is a creative way to experience art, lift spirits and get people outside connecting safely, while benefitting the American Heart Association.
