46th Valley Visual Art Show

Carbondale Arts presents the 46th Annual Valley Visual Art Show, opening Friday, January 17, 2025 (reception is from 5-7pm) and will be on exhibition each weekday (10am-5pm) at our gallery space located inside The Launchpad (76 S 4th Street) through February 20, 2025.

The Valley Visual Art Show is one of the longest-standing community art shows committed to showing the work of local artists. VVAS began in 1980 as a venue for local artists to share their artwork with the public. VVAS still provides this opportunity, especially for artists new to the area and budding artists, but the show has also become both a salute to the wide variety of artistic talents in our area and a time to bring the artist community together.

Special thanks to Basalt Printing and Art Supply for generously sponsoring this exhibition. Basalt Printing is a versatile office service, art supply resource and large format printer for the Roaring Fork Valley. Learn more at basaltprinting.com

About the Carbondale Arts Gallery

MISSION STATEMENT:
The Carbondale Arts Gallery is an exhibition space dedicated to amplifying and nurturing diverse artistic voices that engage and stimulate our community.

VISION STATEMENTS:
• The Carbondale Arts gallery strives to provide a platform for creatives in order to serve and enrich the Roaring Fork Valley community. Though exhibiting local artists is a priority, we recognize the value in cultivating connections with regional and national-based artists as well.

• We appreciate the innate capacity and inherent ability of art to naturally elicit deeper conversations, something we value highly and encourage featured artists of the Carbondale Arts Gallery to consider.

• We acknowledge that an exhibition may be determined “successful” in a variety of ways (the saleability of artwork is only one), and The Carbondale Arts Gallery prioritizes community engagement and creative risk taking.

• Because there are few spaces within the Roaring Fork Valley in which to showcase artwork, we consider the Carbondale Arts Gallery a unique opportunity for emerging and established creatives alike to express themselves through a variety of concepts and media.

Exhibition Resources

We have launched a “Know Your Artist, Know Your Art” campaign, as Carbondale Arts works to build relationships between artists and patrons. Inspired by the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model of investing in local food, this Community Supported Art movement promotes the investment of local artists making a living in and around Carbondale Creative District, where Carbondale Arts makes its home.

There is a deep connection that happens when you purchase a piece of art, and getting to know the artist makes that connection even deeper. Find some art you love and dive in.

Artist Fellowship Program

The Artist Fellowship Program is for artists and creatives of any genre, who need some funding to help them further their career, their art or their ideas. Applications will be made available each spring.

This fellowship can help an artist develop a vision, buy supplies, or rent rehearsal/studio space; it can help with residency/workshop fees or for marketing purposes. The uses are limitless, but the requests should be specific.

Thanks to the Wolfpack Foundation and Carbondale Arts supporters we are able to offer $8000 in funding this year - four successful applicants will be awarded $2000.

Email staci@carbondalearts.com with any questions.
2025 applications announced soon.
