Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else

Offerings

Creative Apprentice Program

Carbondale Arts Creative Apprentice Program (CAP) supports youth development by providing paid opportunities for youth (14-19) to work with local creative professionals on projects of community value. Our projects focus on youth development by creating spaces where youth of all backgrounds are given tools, skills and a platform to voice their perspectives.

After-School

Our after-school programs partner local artists with local schools to provide expanded access to creative opportunities for youth of all ages and backgrounds. Our after-school programs create a safe space for students to show up as who they are and explore without fear of failure in order to grow social-emotional well being and creative thinking skill sets. Often times after-school programming exposes students to a range of artistic methods and materials and gives students an opportunity to try new things.

Summer Camps

Our summer camps range from half-day to full day camps that are a few days to a few weeks long and are available to students from 7-14 years old. We offer camps in the visual and performing arts that range from painting, songwriting, hip-hop dance and music production and more. During these camps students get a chance to work with a local artist to develop new skills and meet a diverse group of people.

The summer camp schedule is typically released in early spring. Stay tuned!

We believe arts education should
be accessible to all.
