There are several events and activities happening in the heart of the Carbondale Creative District for June’s First Friday.
Celebrate Carbondale’s new public art! The Carbondale Public Arts Commission will be hosting the annual Art Around Town walk, celebrating incoming sculptures on Thursday, June 6. In addition, Carbondale Arts is commissioning 5 new murals along Hwy 133, which will be completed by First Friday, June 7. Take a self-guided tour! Further details to come.
Carbondale Parks and Rec will be hosting live music by Little Moses Jones (R & B) in Chacos Park at 6pm, as well as some fun activities for public outreach for the Carbondale Pool capitol campaign.
CLEER will be hosting the Plug It In EV Roadshow, where you can learn about electric vehicles (including bikes), charging, tax breaks and rebates with free family-friendly activities,
4-7pm.
Wilderness Workshop will be hosting the Community Party in Sopris Park 5:30-8:30pm, celebrating 20 years of protection for the Thompson Divide. Live music, scrumptious food, craft beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. But first, join in the “Cattle Drive” themed parade down Main Street, leading into the park at 5:15pm.
Carbondale Arts will be hosting a reception for Xerocks and Potholes & Analog Nature in the gallery, 5-7pm with an artist talk at 5:30pm.
Carbondale Clay Center (CCC) will be hosting a closing reception for their annual exhibition, Pairings, with a special event celebrating the beverage, 6-8pm. Beverage partners include Marble Distilling, Bonfire Coffee, and Mountain Heart Brewing.
During that time they will be sharing a presentation from CCY Architects and 2 Forks Ventures on their plans for the new CCC.
