I moved to Colorado about 6 years ago from the East so I could spend more time in the mountains, and found myself taking photos to send back to my family. After a few years of using a cell-phone I decided to buy a real camera, and soon it became nearly as much of a passion as being in the outdoors itself. After reading many books on photography and composition and practicing for a few years, I was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards of 2021. I strive to find unique compositions in mostly remote areas (other than the occasional Indy Pass trip), and I prefer high-contrast areas of light. Photography has been a great way for me to challenge my creative side while pushing myself on difficult adventures. Every photo here was taken after 2019 and within a half day’s drive from Carbondale. I hope you enjoy viewing some of the beautiful places around our home while you sip your coffee.
