Carbondale Arts presents “The Poetics of Sculpture”, a group exhibition with Leah Aegerter, Nori Pao, and Louise Deroualle at the Carbondale Arts R2 Gallery and will be on exhibition September 17 - October 29, 2021. The community is invited to an outdoor artist talk on Friday, September 17, beginning at 5:15pm. The R2 Gallery will be open til 8pm that evening and 10am-5pm each weekday as well as 10am-2pm on Saturdays.

Through exploration and innovation of form and material, women artists of the 20th century reimagined the field of sculpture as something malleable and transcending definition. In an effort to create meaning out of matter, these feminists infiltrated the male-dominant studio space and galvanized a sculptural revolution whose boundaries are ever expanding.
