43rd Annual Valley Visual Art Show
Carbondale Arts presented the 43rd Annual Valley Visual Art Show, which opened on Friday, January 21 from 10am-5pm, and was on exhibition weekdays (10am-5pm) and Saturdays (10am-2pm) at the R2 Gallery through February 25, 2022.
The Valley Visual Art Show is one of the longest-standing community art shows committed to showing the work of local artists. VVAS began in 1980 as a venue for local artists to share their artwork with the public. VVAS still provides this opportunity, especially for artists new to the area and budding artists, but the show has also become both a salute to the wide variety of artistic talents in our area and a time to bring the artist community together. This year’s show featured over 60 Roaring Fork Valley artists and included two and three dimensional work created in with wide variety of media. We received work from many new artists as well as many long-time local artists from the Roaring Fork Valley.
Also unique to the VVAS are the coveted People’s Choice Awards. Visitors to the R2 Gallery were invited to vote (only once!) for their favorite artwork.
