I have arrived at yellow organically, drawn to the dichotomy of its vibrancy and softness.

Carbondale Arts presented “Yellow For Frances”, a solo painting exhibition by Eden Keil May 3 through May 31, 2019 at the R2 Gallery inside The Launchpad. This exhibition opened the same evening as “Linear // Planar“, a 2-person ceramic show with Savanna LaBauve and Stephanie Seguin.

Eden Keil is interested in landscape in its broadest sense. Yellow for Frances was a series of paintings continuing an exploration of the landscape through an abstracted and personal lens. The paintings combined elements of previous works, dissected and reimagined, with a focus on integrating yellow into the pieces. The work looked formally to waves, mountains, ultrasounds, radar, wood grain and other imagery across scales.
