What is the best part of being creative in Carbondale?

The best part of being creative in Carbondale is that there is plenty of psychic and physical room to generate ideas and work. And then there is an enthusiastic population to receive that work. Not only is there a plethora of creative people here, there is also great talent and energy for supporting and managing the arts. All that put together creates fertile ground to freely express oneself and to be seen.

What motivates or inspires you and your work?

My work is motivated and inspired by the internal metaphors and images I form around what is going on in the larger world. It’s mostly about the feeling and human energy around a particular event or set of events. And combined with this social influence, nature inspires me in every moment.

Where can we see your work?

My work can be seen online at LisaSingerArt.com. There is a large collection of past and present work with a vibrant collection in NEW WORKS. I also have a gallery connected to my new studio at my home. I am happy to show my work there and I can be reached at Lisa@LisaSingerArt.com to arrange a time. I am in shows on a regular basis and have one coming up in October 2022 at the Aspen Chapel Gallery.

What projects are coming up?

I am always working with clients on commissions and selling work from the website. I donate art for auctions to support various causes. I am working with a drummer through the organization Voices, to create paintings inspired by his work. That body of work will be shown in October at the Chapel Gallery in Aspen. I am anticipating the art scene gaining back its strength and more opportunities to show in various settings.
