"The Nature of Representation: Evidence & Metaphor" by Esther Macy Nooner and "Prospects" by Hannah Stoll

Painting by Hannah Stoll

"The Nature of Representation: Evidence and Metaphor" is a solo exhibition by photographer, Esther Macy Nooner. Historically the romantic ideologies of the sublime have followed the beauty of landscape in paintings and photography through the centuries. This work continues the thread of challenging the expectation of what a photograph of nature "should" be.

"Prospects" is a solo exhibition by painter, Hannah Stoll, whose work depicts young people in the modern age. These moments are quiet, intimate ones. "Prospects" highlights the empathetic connection between the subjects and viewers, offering a window into the psyche of strangers and themselves.

Opening reception: First Friday, June 3, 5-8pm, with artist talks beginning at 5:30pm. R2 Gallery is open M-F 10am-5pm and 10am-2pm on Saturdays
